Responsibilities
- Must have minimum 13+ years of hands on experience on AIX support & IBM power hardware management.
- Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems 7.1/7.2/7.3 on IBM Power Systems.
- Must have knowledge on downloading packages from IBM fixcentral,packaging / create installable image/ ISO.
- Must have knowledge on scripting Shell / Perl / Ansible / Python .
- Must have excellent debugging and problem analysis skills.
- Design, implement, and manage PowerHA (HACMP) clusters for high availability.
- Design , Administer and support GPFS (General Parallel File System) for scalable storage solutions.
- Manage Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) environments, including configuration and troubleshooting.
- Good exposure/hands on experience on HMC & server firmware upgrades , Network card & Fiber card firmware upgrades.
- Operate and maintain Hardware Management Console (HMC) for Power Systems hardware management.
- Use Network Installation Manager (NIM) for AIX OS deployment and patch management.
- Plan and execute OS migrations + PowerHA software migrations + GPFS software upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Perform Live Partition Mobility (LPM) operations to migrate workloads across physical servers.
- Perform data/disk/filesystem migrations from one storage to different storage.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and security; perform tuning and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure projects and disaster recovery planning.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices. Hardening of servers as per security standards.
- Hands on Knowledge on vulnerability management & applying fixes .
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate and deal with customers.
- Knowledge of handling p0/p1 tickets & root cause analysis .
- Always Follow internal processes (SOPs, Golden Rules, ITIL, time tracking, escalation, etc).
