The Global Finance Shared Service Center supports the core business with finance related matters, covering a wide scope of activities across the globe. We ensure suppliers and artists are paid on time for the amazing work they create. We work closely with the local finance teams around the world which means we have an excellent understanding of how the company operates and are kept up to date with key developments in this exciting and fast paced industry. Our teams play a key role in ensuring Sony Music achieve their annual goals each year.

The OTC Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Revenue Order to Cash Manager within the Sales Reporting department with sales reporting & processing, data quality analysis, Financial Postings & Accruals, and overseeing cash application for various different income streams, as well as other special projects as directed by management.

What You'll Do:

• Review and processing of sales files of various income streams to ensure they are compliant with the deal terms while also taking appropriate actions for non-compliant reporting
• Review financial postings, accruals, and General Ledger (GL) and Accounts Receivable account reconciliations to ensure they are accurately and timely reported as requested by Local and Global management
• Invoicing of deal partners per sales reporting or contractual terms
• Review of manual journal entries as necessary
• Supervision of allocation of cash payments received against the corresponding agreements
• Set up and maintenance of customer/deals, within internal SME systems as well as in coordination with the Deal Partner, Business & Legal Affairs, and deal administrators
• Ongoing interaction & communication of issues with management, affiliates and sales partners regarding Sales reporting concerns
• Liaise & coordinate with various teams on joint work items (including IS&T and offshore partners)
• Provide support as needed
• Business Process Improvements
  • Specifically focusing on identifying and addressing “root cause” of issues

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree; Accounting preferred
• Minimum of 4-year work experience; music industry or other entertainment field preferred
• Detail oriented individual with strong organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time productively
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to analyze and review information from several different sources (corporate systems)
• Prior experience with SAP, Royalty Systems, and/or Sales Systems would be strongly preferred
• Capable of working independently, while also integrating into a team environment
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Proficiency in English language required: reading, written, and oral
• Additional foreign languages are a plus
