ORBITAL TUBE WELDER (FLUID SYSTEMS)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow established procedures to setup and operate the orbital welding system
  • Work from blueprints and approved drawings
  • Cut and prepare all tubing and fittings used in the welding operation
  • Perform setup of the welding system
  • Assemble and calibrate liquid controllers and systems as required
  • Inspect all completed assemblies using the borescope inspection system
  • Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for the welding system
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Maintain a file of all work records

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ year of welding, machining or manufacturing experience OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, welding, and/or electronics

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certification from a formal orbital weld training program
  • 3+ years of orbital welding experience
  • Airframe and powerplant (A&P) license
  • TIG welding and clean room experience
  • Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed. 1st shift (4am – 2:30pm), 2nd shift (3:00 – 1:30pm), weekend first shift (Thursday-Sunday, 3am-3pm), weekend second shift (Thursday - Sunday, 3pm - 3am)
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
  • Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Orbital Tube Welder/Level 1: $22.00 - $27.00/hour
Orbital Tube Welder/Level 2: $25.00 - $32.50/hour
Orbital Tube Welder/Level 3: $30.00 - $38.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
