Position Summary
Spencer Stuart is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner for our internal Human Resources Team. This is a full-time role and will be based in Spencer Stuart’s Chicago office. The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate excellent experiences across the employee life cycle for their assigned internal client group. The ideal candidate will bring creative and effective ideas and solutions to our firm.

Key Responsibilities
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the external and internal legal counsel as needed/required.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides data analysis and reporting solutions per business needs.
Advises management on the formulation and administration of plans and policies for human resource activities.
Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource or firm issues.
Develops, revises and advises on HR policies and procedures.
Assists with developing, coordinating and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow for internal client group.
Assists with internal client group recruiting by overseeing the posting of job requisitions, creation of offer letters, background checks, and onboarding.
Works with other HRBPs to enhance human resources processes.
Assist the HRBP team create and execute initiatives to drive exceptional individual and team performance.
Employ operational discipline partnering with the Global People Team and Compensation teams to ensure accuracy in organizational hierarchy, pay, titling, and leveling.
Participates in professional development sessions or seminars.
Leads and/or participates on special and cross-functional project teams.
Works collaboratively with other HR team members to analyze, organize, and prepare insights for leaders on employee engagement data.
Assists with mobility processes including global office transfers and visa/work authorization as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Experience
Basic Qualifications
An undergraduate degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including succession planning, organizational design, coaching, recognition programs, talent management, communications, employee benefits, and change management.
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Displays excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to coach, influence, and partner with all members of the firm at varying professional levels.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in English (written & spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably has experience using Workday.
Additional language skills (outside of English) will be an advantage.
A certification with HRCI or SHRM is desirable.
The base compensation range for this position is $115-125k per year. The actual base compensation offered within this range will be dependent on the individual’s skills, experiences, and qualifications. This position will be eligible to participate in our annual discretionary bonus program.
