Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking to hire a highly motivated, ambitious, Transportation Roadway Engineer (EIT) in one of our Mid-Atlantic office locations. The position will offer the opportunity to work on small and large high-profile roadway, highway, trail, and transit projects, in urban and rural settings, located in Virginia as well as other areas of the Mid-Atlantic region.

This position also offers office location flexibility with several options throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region to choose from including Virginia Beach, Richmond, Williamsburg, Fairfax, Hampton Roads, Charleston, WV, and Laurel, MD.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Perform Roadway, Highway and Trail geometric design.

• Model projects in MicroStation using the latest software (OpenRoads)

• Prepare construction documents and cost estimates

• Perform field work to collect data or observe projects under construction

• Work with a collaborative group of Stantec experts to meet client expectations.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Experience in Transportation Engineering: 3 to 6 years’ experience.

• Proficiency with Microstation OpenRoads (ORD)

• Knowledgeable of AASHTO design manuals and guides

• Familiarity with VDOT Roadway design standards

• Good oral and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering

• Engineer in Training (EIT) required.

• Professional Engineer’s License (PE) preferred. #2026
