Primary Purpose of Job:
Stantec is an engineering design and remediation leader in global infrastructure, water resources, buildings, mining, power & dams, and oil & gas sectors. We provide, program management and technology solutions for the environmental, water, wastewater, energy and power markets in North Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions. Stantec’s Pune, India office is looking for a Civil designer to join our team and work in Water group.
The role is to support project managers/team leaders by providing civil design (CAD/BIM) support on site civil and land development projects to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations. Design and documentation of projects under the instructions and guidance of a Project Engineer using Civil Engineering techniques utilizing software such as, but not limited to Autodesk Civil3D and AutoCAD in accordance with Client standards and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
Prepare drawings and figures as required using AutoCAD Civil 3D software to support the project team.
With guidance, prepare designs for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, and erosion control design.
Complete tasks including cut and fill calculations, turning movements, and flow calculations for the design of wastewater and storm sewer systems.
Participate in quality assurance and quality control review on own projects and projects of peers.
Coordinate and review the design of shallow utilities.
Participate and collaborate in a project team setting and able to engage in creative and critical thought.
Contribute to project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, and other various project stakeholders as required, including accountability to schedule milestones
May be required to interacting with regional staff as needed.
Person Specifications:
BEng (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering + minimum 3 years of relevant experience or Diploma in Civil Engineering + minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Good hands-on experience of AutoCAD Civil3D is must. Evidence of the C3D experience are welcome.
Knowledge of MicroStation/ OpenRoads / Infraworks / Revit / 12D / Bluebeam Revu will be preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
Willingness to learn additional software skills for relevant design software.
General knowledge of construction techniques and practices
Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering in a BIM environment
Good oral and written communication skills
Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and use his/her initiative for simple tasks and under supervision for the critical tasks.
Rigorous attention to detail, able to understand and adopt workflows and commitment to professional development
Flexible attitude to accepting different work assignments and pro-active attitude to execution / delivery
