Title: Python Developer ( Digital Practice team – RNet Pune)

Stantec’s Digital Practice Team in India is a fast-growing team. For the last two decades, this IT team is providing a variety of software automation, customization, business continuity solutions, and services for our global clients. The Digital Practice experts conduct research and development to keep our global teams and projects ahead of the technological curve. We work on emerging technology solutions for a variety of business sectors. Our goal is to be an accelerator of growth for Stantec and add value to our clients and communities with niche and advance technology solutions.

The Digital Practice Team in India works with several regions US, UK, CANADA, and ANZ, to name a few, and builds Digital Solutions and I.P. The team supports our multi-disciplinary engineering Design Deliverables with Engineering Software customization and automation services. You will work with Product Owners, Scrum Masters and develop applications used directly by our clients. This team has developed a series of productivity tools and migrating those to newer emerging technologies.

The Digital Practice team works closely with our Design Delivery Leaders, Business Leaders, and clients to develop solutions to provide high quality & on-time deliverables. You will also have an opportunity to have many careers in one Firm.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, engineers, and domain experts to understand requirements and conceptualize the Parametric Design Tool.

• Design, develop, and maintain a robust and user-friendly Parametric Design Tool using Python.

• Create a user interface that allows for intuitive manipulation of design parameters and instant feedback on design outcomes.

• Implement algorithms and mathematical models to enable real-time adjustments and iterations of designs based on user input.

• Ensure the tool's efficiency, scalability, and performance by optimizing code and algorithms.

• Integrate the Parametric Design Tool with external systems, databases, or APIs as needed.

• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and address any issues or discrepancies.

• Collaborate with the UI/UX team to ensure a seamless and visually appealing user experience.

• Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in parametric design, Python development, Django and related fields.

• Experience with tools like Viktor.

• Document the development process, codebase, and tool functionality for reference and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• 3 - 5 years of professional experience as a Python Developer, with a strong focus on application development and design.

• Proven experience in developing user interfaces and interactive tools using Python frameworks such as PyQt, Tkinter, or Kivy.

• Solid understanding of parametric design principles and mathematics involved in design manipulation.

• Proficiency in algorithm development and optimization for real-time design adjustments.

• Experience in integrating Python applications with databases, APIs, or other external systems.

• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset for debugging and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git, for collaborative development.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of software development practices and familiarity with various development methodologies.

• Willing to work in flexible hours to co-ordinate with our regional counterparts mainly from CANADA, US, UK, ANZ
