Stantec’s Belgium office hosts the International Division unit which has the Center of Expertise in Communication and Stakeholder Engagement. At the Center, a diverse team of digital campaign specialists, communication and visibility officers, social media and public relations officers and content editors, offers creative content support to projects and business development teams. Our main clients are international institutions, such as the European Commission (EC and its Agencies, the European Investment Bank (EIB and EU bilateral donors. Our core expertise is communicating to communities about climate change adaptation, renewable energy and energy efficiency, as well as stakeholder’s engagement, including diplomacy, governance, and communication.
We are currently seeking to grow our team with a Web Officer / Databases Manager (Freelance) to join our international and dynamic Center of Expertise to support our growth and ambition in the sector of Communication, Visibility and Policy Outreach.
The Web Editor helps clients create, update and manage their websites and multi-media libraries and content databases (CMS). In this role, you will be in charge of updating and applying existing Drupal coded elements on client web pages. Perform regular information, content and directories updates including adding documents, text, hyperlinks etc.; set up a systematic quality control system for updates; capture and analyse information about usage; regular update of content databases and multi-media libraries including archiving and management of photo and video assets is part of the job.
With strong technical and editorial skills, the specialist helps the work of communications programs to ensure client’s projects have a strong online presence.
The web editor is part of the creative and editorial team. The role is in contact with designers, editors, content strategists and specialists. This role will report in person to the Editorial Coordinator. The editorial team's tasks include creating and updating pages on existing website using Drupal, planning and executing content production strategies, solving website problems, and supporting major campaigns. The specialist also organizes and uses clients' digital assets and makes sure they are used appropriately. The specialist is meticulous, organized, attentive to details and rigorous and is ready to improve clients' digital content and assets, monitor analytics closely, and share information about analytics and best practices.
A variety of task are expected to be completed on a daily basis:
Editing and publishing web page, articles, photos, news and events.
Managing the upload of documents, exporting in PowerPoint to .pdf and preparing files for the best optimisation for digital publication such as video formats with limited video/audio editing.
Perform regular and ad-hoc updates of existing content of client website; introduce content produced directly into web content management systems templates and create pages in existing website structure (Drupal).
Publish on daily basis event notices, publications, weekly news, regular updates of the different sections including call for proposals, success stories, sub-programmes pages.
Qualifications:
Applicants should as a minimum have the following qualifications and demonstrate the following skills:
Working knowledge of Drupal (Knowledge of HTML, CSS, & WordPress is an asset).
5+ years of experience in cataloging, databases, website management and working with CMS.
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, while accurately setting and meeting deadlines.
Able to communicate with clients, via phone or video calls, and act according to received briefings and instructions; gather information regarding website updates and needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including assertiveness)
Excellent knowledge of English (both spoken and written)
Knowledge and collaboration experience with European Union is an asset.
A portfolio of work examples or websites managed must be provided as Annex to the CV.
