Description

Senior Project Designer, Mechanical (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.; Seattle, WA): Perform engineering calculations for building HVAC systems including heating/cooling loads, static pressure calculations for ductwork and piping. Create plumbing, piping, and ductwork layouts for building systems. Coordinate with other stakeholders involved in design projects, including team members focused on structural, electrical, civil, acoustical, and/or landscape architecture aspects. Mentor junior engineering staff to pass on learned knowledge. Create drawings for construction of mechanical and plumbing systems. Review Requests for Information (RFI’s), Submittals, and shop drawings submitted by Contractor during the construction of the building. Carry out Energy Life Cycle Cost Analyses. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). The salary range is $96,291 - $123,500 per year. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, & work location. #GTM

Qualifications

Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field, and 4 years of related work experience; OR a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Using Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project delivery; Utilizing Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) for energy modelling and heating and cooling load calculations; Engineering-related codes, including IBC, IMC, IFC, IECC, UPC, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASCE, or LEED; and Using Bluebeam.

Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days a week, depending on business need.

Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 10%.

  • Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city’s paid sick leave law.
