If you are in your second or third year of study at university studying engineering, engineering science, mathematics, statistics or related qualifications then we want you to apply for an internship with Stantec. This is the perfect opportunity to work across an exciting and broad range of projects!

Scope of work
This internship with the Christchurch Transportation Team offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the investigation, design and construction of transportation infrastructure projects while working alongside a supportive and motivated team.
Typical tasks for these projects could include:
Assist with traffic impact assessments for future development projects
Participate in road safety investigations
Utilise industry-standard software such as AutoCAD to create and modify concept plans in a digital format.
Contribute to the preparation of reports and other essential engineering documentation.
Participate in meetings and discussions with clients and contractors to facilitate effective project coordination.
Conduct site visits to observe and monitor construction activities, providing valuable insights for ongoing design projects.
Assist in ensuring quality assurance during the construction phase of projects.
Gain exposure into project management and project technical leadership
Additionally, you may have opportunities to support other disciplines within the wider Christchurch Stantec Team, including water, dams, structural, and geotechnical engineering. Collaboration across disciplines is encouraged on various projects, providing a well-rounded learning experience.
This role will allow you to develop further understanding of the transport engineering sector and the role of an engineering consultant. It offers valuable exposure to real-world projects, enabling you to enhance your technical skills and gain insight into the multifaceted nature of the transport industry.

Be in your second or third year of study
Preferably have a full clean current driving licence
Studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering
