Your Opportunity

We are in search of a smart, creative, and inspired leader for the role of Manager, IT Procurement based in North America. The individual will support our global procurement team in the development and implementation of an IT procurement department. This role will execute the strategy to drive change and innovation in Stantec’s procurement of IT products and software, moving the company to the next level of sourcing and procurement of IT hardware and software by creating and managing processes that align with Stantec’s strategic vision.

Reporting to the VP – Procurement & Real Estate, the Manager for IT Procurement will manage all company-wide IT-related purchases.

The individual will lead a team that drives the project deliverables, as well as the technical support for purchasing, invoicing and sourcing for all IT procurement activities at Stantec. This role will be critical in driving process transformation, stakeholder buy in and leading the delivery team. The Senior Director needs to have a strong desire for being accountable for delivering a seamless purchasing and invoicing process to Stantec. Collaboration with Stantec IT services and stakeholders will be critical to driving these improvements, leading the change management to streamline operations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor and develop the IT procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, best in class delivery and continuous dedication to improvement.

  • Responsible for the management, renewal and negotiation of enterprise software agreements (Microsoft, Oracle, AutoCAD, Bentley, etc.).

  • Researching and evaluating hardware and software options for the company’s needs.

  • Negotiating pricing and contracts with vendors to secure the best deals

  • Ensuring that all purchases comply with company policies and budgets

  • Collaborating with IT teams to understand their specific needs and requirements

  • Developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures and strategies to optimize the IT procurement process

  • Develop strategic plans and in turn provide direction to team to ensure high performance and alignment with business goals

  • Identifying cost saving opportunities with existing vendors

  • Managing supplier relationships and evaluating supplier performance to ensure quality, and cost requirements are met

  • Lead the management of all required internal controls and approvals and documentation required by Stantec for the procurement of goods or services.

  • Act as a key liaison between finance, IT and IT procurement.

  • Develop highly effective internal relationships with key stakeholders, clients, colleagues and key business partners to ensure cross-collaborative approach to IT procurement management.

  • Define system requirements and functionalities needed to support Stantec IT procurement processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Engage with global and cross functional teams to resolve issues, support enhancements and ensure seamless integration of IT procurement across the organization. This includes developing training materials and conducting training to educate team members on system functionalities and best practices.

  • Develop key team KPI’s to track overall department deliverables.

  • Develop and generate reports and insights to inform procurement strategies, track performance metrics and support decision making.

  • Analyze procurement workflows and continuously identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Excellent knowledge of procurement systems within a professional services firm with preference to those candidates with IT procurement experience.

  • Firsthand experience in executing the implementation of a broad-based procurement system to a large organization

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and other business systems required.

  • Aptitude to be a strong team leader and inspiring the procurement team to delivery best in class services to our Stantec businesses.

  • Strategic thinker in developing overall procurement strategic plans for long term value and business advantage to Stantec.

  • Understand how different factors, variables, and policies result in corresponding impacts and managing communication of those factors.

  • Strong communication, both written and verbal.

  • Commitment to customer service and relationship management skills to efficiently respond to inquiries and resolve any conflicts or problems that might arise.

  • Willing to travel as needed including internationally (up to15-20%).

Education and Experience

Degree or certification in supply chain management, procurement or related fields is preferred (e.g., CSCP, CPSM or related designation).

Preferably 7+ years of experience in procurement systems.

Demonstrated ability to lead a procurement function and partner closely with finance and IT teams to work cohesively to deliver an IT procurement program.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
