Description:

Stantec is looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor for a Water Infrastructure Projects in Dubai.

Technical Delivery:

 Experience in all facets of quantity surveying including:

• Cost Planning

• Quantity Take-Off

• Preparation of Bills of Quantities in CESMM format

• Estimating

• Tender and Contract Document Production

• Report Writing

• Claim Evaluation/Negotiation

• General Post Contract Administration

• Valuation of Variations

• Agreement of new rates

• Taking Over Certificates and Defects Liability

 Assist the Project Manager on commercial matters

 Assist in the preparation, submission, and agreement of interim payment applications to maximize the company’s cashflow

 Coordinate to ensure compliance with contractual requirements

 General commercial management of sub-contractors

 Accurate and efficient measurement and identification of variations

 Production and agreement of final accounts and any additional cost claims

 Placement of subcontract order and agreement of subcontract final accounts

 Ensure that income from interim applications Is received on time

 Coordinate to ensure financial report is issued accurately in a timely manner

Collaboration and Teamwork:

 Work in conjunctions with engineers to solve project design conflicts, and perform basic design calculations

 Conduct field inspections under the supervision of the Project Manager

 Liaise with all teams working remotely to facilitate completion of tasks

Client Service Management:

 Liaise with internal and external clients

 Build and maintain lasting positive relationships

Follow Safe Work Practices:

 Complete all work in line with Stantec’s core values and in accordance with Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures

 Design for safety

Qualifications:

− Relevant tertiary qualification(s); BSc QS preferred.

− Professional Qualifications; e.g. MRICS

− 10 years experience in all facets of quantity surveying including cost planning, quantity take-off, preparation of bills of quantities in CESMM format, estimating, tender and contract document production, report writing, claim evaluation/negotiation, general post contract administration, valuation of variations, agreement of new rates, Taking Over Certificates and Defects Liability Certificates of Contracts related to infrastructure works.

• Experience in working on Water Infrastructure, TSE, Networks, Water Pipelines, Flood Prevention Schemes

• Fluency in English and high degree of numeracy and literacy.
