Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Water practice is seeking a Chemical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our high-performing team. This entry-level role offers the chance to contribute to a wide range of infrastructure projects, from small-scale upgrades to large, transformative systems. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience in water and wastewater process design, fieldwork, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Support project teams with technical documentation, reporting, and research
Develop process calculations using spreadsheets and modeling tools
Create engineering deliverables such as: - Process flow diagrams
Heat and mass balances
Piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
Hydraulic calculations
Process data sheets and performance specifications
Draft reports summarizing findings and engineering recommendations
Assist with project permitting and regulatory documentation
Participate in site inspections, construction observations, and commissioning activities
Attend project meetings and contribute to meeting minutes and coordination
Ensure tasks are completed on time and within scope and budget
Perform other duties as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficiency in process modeling software (e.g., ChemCAD, AspenTech, AutoCAD)
Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Valid driver’s license and eligibility for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for most of the day. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
