Your Opportunity
As a Civil EIT, you’ll contribute to smaller projects and support larger ones under the guidance of senior engineers and designers. You’ll assist in evaluating, specifying, and engineering systems and products, while gaining hands-on experience in calculations, field work, coordination, and client interaction.

What You’ll Do
Perform civil engineering design including hydraulic system calculations, pipe design, engineering reports, and regulatory applications
Assist in preparing project documents and client presentations
Attend meetings with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to understand project goals and challenges
Support design development through sketches, models, diagrams, and other visual tools
Identify and address technical issues with sound judgment and creativity
Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design compatibility
Help develop project-specific specifications and review shop drawings and submittals
Participate in site observations and other contract administration tasks
Assist in selecting civil systems and materials
Contribute to value engineering and basic cost estimating
What You Bring
A solid understanding of civil engineering design concepts including gravity and pressure systems, stormwater and drainage, road design, grading, and erosion control
Familiarity with engineering documentation and the relationship between drawings and specifications
Ability to identify and solve technical problems with creativity and innovation
Knowledge of relevant codes and design requirements, with growing jurisdictional experience
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to interpret technical sketches and drawings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, StormCAD, and WaterCAD
Initiative and coordination skills within a team setting
Developing confidence in discussing project issues with clients and agencies
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
EIT certification and working toward PE licensure
Minimum of 2 years of experience

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
