Role Overview

As the Operations Director, you will lead and manage Stantec’s operations across the Netherlands, ensuring optimal performance, strategic expansion, and financial success. You will be the driving force behind our business strategy, inspiring teams, fostering client relationships, and representing Stantec in high-profile industry forums.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire teams across multiple offices, fostering a culture of engagement and excellence.

• Drive operational efficiency to achieve revenue and income goals.

• Collaborate with the Netherlands Growth Director to develop and implement strategic growth plans.

• Oversee marketing and business development initiatives to maximize ROI.

• Anticipate and respond to economic and market trends to maintain competitive advantage.

• Cultivate executive-level relationships with clients, government bodies, and industry associations.

• Represent Stantec at conferences, universities, and professional networks to enhance brand visibility.

• Deliver comprehensive operational reports and financial statements to senior leadership.

• Conduct monthly performance reviews with leadership teams to ensure alignment and progress.

• Ensure robust financial management and internal controls.

• Monitor key business pursuits and implement strategies to optimize performance.

• Develop resource plans and talent development programs to support future growth.

• Champion professionalism, technical excellence, and corporate culture.

• Contribute to regional management as a member of the European senior leadership team.

• Promote effective communication and collaboration across the organization.

• Lead Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) initiatives in partnership with global teams.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a relevant field, preferably postgraduate.

• Minimum of 15 years in a senior leadership role.

• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed professional services environment.

• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities.

• Strategic thinker with a track record of driving operational excellence.

• Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

• Willingness to complete a psychometric assessment as part of the recruitment process.
