Senior Architectural Technician

Our growing Architectural team in Reading has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architectural Technician to join them. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Revit and AutoCAD proficient Technician to work on residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects. You should have excellent communication and presentation skills, architectural experience, technical knowledge and a willingness to learn. You will primarily report to the Reading Architecture team, which forms part of the wider National UK Architectural team.
The office homes approximately 80 people working in Town Planning, Architecture, Masterplanning, Landscape, Graphic Communications and Functional Support teams . Based in The Blade we offer a modern, open-plan and high-quality office environment in Central Reading, just 5 minutes’ walk from Reading train station.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
Taking part in initial early-stage feasibility studies, planning and building regulation applications and leading projects through construction stages
Supporting the wider UK Architecture team as well as providing support and guidance to junior colleagues where required
Providing technical support with ongoing residential and commercial projects particularly from layout working drawings through to completion
Developing client relationships
You will have:
Minimum HNC / BTEC / CIAT qualified (Revit and RIBA certifications are an advantage)
Experience in an Architectural Technician role , including production of high-quality working drawing and layouts ideally for residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects
BIM Level 2 experience and Fluent use of Revit and AutoCAD for large projects residential schemes
Knowledge of creating schedules and families within Revit
Recent UK work examples for RIBA Stages 4 to 5
Working knowledge of current UK Building Regulations
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong job-running skills, with the ability to programme your own work
Excellent team capability, able to engage actively with colleagues, confident, enthusiastic and with a can-do attitude
Ability to review and interpret shop and sub-contractor drawings
Experience in writing specifications and experience of using NBS Chorus/NBS Building
Additional desirable attributes would be:
Experience in Photoshop, Sketch-up
A keen interest and knowledge in Design
Hand-drawing skills (concept and perspective) and the ability to produce clear graphic presentations
