Your Opportunity
Our Greater Toronto Area (GTA) architectural team is a key contributor to Stantec’s diverse industrial portfolio. This position reports to the Sector Principal for the GTA and collaborates closely with our principal-led leadership team. We are seeking a dynamic leader to inspire, engage, and grow a culturally strong, high-performing industrial practice in Ontario.
The ideal candidate will bring strong data center and industrial project experience, along with project leadership and business development skills, to join our multidisciplinary team.
Our industrial clients span manufacturing, public transit, automotive, aerospace, food & beverage, warehousing/distribution/logistics, chemicals and polymers, municipal infrastructure, power and energy, science and technology, and national defense sectors.
We deliver new construction and renovation projects, including:
Data centers and mission-critical facilities
Vehicle maintenance facilities for light rail, heavy rail, bus fleets, mining, and other transit systems
Warehouses, distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and parcel sortation facilities
Component manufacturing and assembly plants
Light and heavy industrial manufacturing facilities
Food processing facilities
Energy transmission stations and supporting structures
Aircraft hangars
Staff support facilities for industrial operations
Other light industrial facilities
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead design for commercial, industrial, and data center projects
Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
Prepare deliverables across all project phases
Uphold Stantec standards for quality, safety, and project delivery
Advance in-house architectural expertise and methodologies
Pursue continuing education to expand knowledge
Develop and maintain client relationships
Facilitate team and client meetings
Communicate project updates to leadership
Deliver engaging presentations, both written and verbal
Identify business development opportunities across disciplines
Collaborate on commercial and industrial pursuits
Develop winning strategies for RFPs
Engage in client contact, proposal preparation, and interviews
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proven ability to lead all aspects of the project cycle—from briefing to substantial performance
Strong business development track record in data centre and industrial sectors
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams with minimal supervision
Expertise in design, technical detailing, and construction documentation
Solid understanding of zoning bylaws and the Ontario Building Code
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience
Degree in Architecture; Registered Architect (OAA preferred)
Minimum 15 years of experience in data centre and industrial building projects
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
