Description:
The Planning Engineer “in association with the resident engineer” shall develop the Project execution plan considering the proper engineering
techniques and milestone sequences
for the Project. He will set targets for
activities based on each project
activity and ensure it meets DM’s
specifications and requirements.
Planning engineers shall estimate
timescales and costs using specialized
design software packages
(Primavera). One of the major
Planning Engineer's roles is to
monitor “day-to-day” work progress
for the Project and provide accurate
weekly and monthly reports by swiftly
communicating potential progress
delays or project slippages. Tracking
and analyzing field results is another
key responsibility. Planning engineers
continually compare planned and actual progress and report any
differences to their lead project
manager. He also studies the impact
of alternative approaches.
Qualifications:
The Planning engineer must have a relevant degree from a
recognized university and a civil engineering background with knowledge and work experience of not less than ten years in design and construction programming/planning of
similar projects.
