Stantec in Alberta has an opportunity for a Senior Commissioning Agent to join our established Western Canadian Commissioning Team.
Our commissioning group focuses on three essential key points for every project from the first day we become part of the project team. Communication, documentation, and verification. These points are integral to all quality assurance applications.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead and participate in all phases of commissioning projects which may include a variety of complex features, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of work
Lead and perform engineering design reviews, prepare commissioning scripts and reports, direct client-site testing and manage the training of on-site staff
Prepare equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures; Development of standard operating procedures (SOP's) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); Comprehensive Commissioning documentation
Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports
Develop oversee and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projects
Prepare comprehensive reports; recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, list of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manuals
Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittal, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning
Lead and participate in commissioning activity meetings
Interface with construction contractors, vendors, and testing technicians
Lead and conduct tests and compile all testing procedure results
Integrated system testing; Load Bank Testing; Compilation of all testing procedure results
Lead, develop and administer functional tests for various building systems, such as: HVAC air and water distribution systems, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, chillers, and boilers,
Assist in leading and managing internal and external resources as the lead mechanical commissioning professional on site
Lead, plan, direct and monitor all aspects of commissioning services for both new and existing buildings
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (this role requires heavy amount of writing, documentation, and client interaction)
High competency in technical writing, systems development and utilization
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Cx Alloy
Extensive knowledge of Building systems and controls design, installation and operation a plus
Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to present complex technical information to a wide audience, including contractors, architects and engineers and others with varying degrees of technical knowledge. Must have proven documentation and report writing skills
This position will require domestic travel.
Proven track record of performing commissioning planning, functional testing, building performance investigation including re-commissioning, retro-commissioning and/or preventative maintenance and building system troubleshooting experience for new and existing buildings
Licensed PE in Mechanical Discipline a plus
CXA, AABC, ACG certification desired
Education and Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering service delivery organization/and or consulting /design environment with proven work-related experience in Building systems
Technical/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or accredited college or university a plus.
LEED AP accreditation an asset.
