Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Junior Technology Consultant to join our growing, multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing a wide range of building technology systems in accordance with industry standards and best practices. You will also provide in-depth technical support for qualified opportunities and deliver technical services to Stantec clients.
You will support the planning, design, and documentation of technology systems for a variety of building types. With mentorship from senior team members, you will gain hands-on experience in project delivery, coordination, and client engagement while building a strong foundation in industry standards and best practices.

Projects can be in market sectors like commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, public, and private facilities. Your Key Responsibilities
Assist with the design of building technology systems, including pathway drawings, low-voltage device layouts, telecommunications outlet plans, system riser diagrams, and technical specifications
Support the design of systems such as: - Video surveillance and electronic security systems
Structured cabling and data network systems
Paging and telephony systems
Wireless, audiovisual, and distributed antenna systems
Nurse call and real-time location systems
Work with project team members to understand project requirements and design constraints
Assist in preparing design and construction documentation
Coordinate designs with other engineering and design disciplines under supervision
Assist with the preparation of tender drawings and specifications
Participate in site visits, on-site assessments, and meetings as required
Support senior staff by performing technical tasks, documentation updates, and design revisions
Learn and apply Stantec and client standards through design reviews and feedback
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Basic knowledge of Canadian electrical codes and standards
Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) TIA, BICSI, and ASIS standards
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Good verbal communication and technical writing skills
Experience with Revit or a strong willingness to develop proficiency
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
1–2 years of relevant experience in building technology, low-voltage systems, or related design environment
Typical hybrid office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for periods of time with standard ergonomic sit-stand desks.
