Your Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced technical professional to join Stantec as Business Center Practice Leader for Industrial Water in the Canada West Region. Reporting directly to the Regional Growth Leader, Water, Canada West, this role is pivotal in driving growth, delivering exceptional client service, leading high quality deliverables, and positioning Stantec as a leader in Industrial Water solutions.

As a seller and doer, you will lead the pursuit and delivery of innovative, high-quality projects for our Industrial Water clients. You will be accountable for growing net revenue and delivering projects within the Industrial Water sector across Canada West and strengthening Stantec’s market position across key industrial sectors. This role requires a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and a passion for building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Growth- Lead business development activities for Industrial Water across Canada West.

  • Expand our client and project base in strategic sectors: Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Mining, Food & Beverage, Data Centres, Advanced Manufacturing, and Power.

  • Collaborate with Energy and Resources, Buildings, and Environmental Services business lines to identify and pursue cross-sector opportunities.

  • Responsible for implementing the M&BD plan for the Industrial Water in Canada West including cross selling across business lines.

  • Increase visibility of Stantec by sharing our knowledge and innovation story through key client engagements to enhance our reputation and drive revenue.

  • Participate in Go/No Go Review process and track compliance of Go/No Go Process.

  • Partner with Business Center, local, and regional leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and business lines.

  • Ensure local marketplace reputation through established relationships and support of leadership.

  • Support proposal development and lead strategic procurements.

  • Project Leadership & Delivery- Manage and provide technical leadership for strategic Industrial Water projects.

  • Ensure innovative design solutions and exceptional quality that exceed client expectations.

  • Actively participate in projects in key roles such as Project Manager, Project Technical Lead, Discipline Lead and/or Independent Technical Reviewers, as required.

  • Conduct risk management related to projects and pursuits including review of contracts, fees, and proposals on large pursuits and in coordination with Business Center leaders and risk management team.

  • Operational & People Leadership- Mentor and develop team members to strengthen technical expertise and capacity in Industrial Water.

  • Work closely with Business Center and regional leaders to provide operational and technical guidance.

  • Collaborate with local, Business Center, and regional leadership to ensure the proper staffing of all projects including hiring, staff transitions, and labor sharing.

  • Foster employee connectedness by interfacing frequently with employees.

  • Collaborate with Local and Business Center leadership to establish, nurture and support cross-discipline project design processes, communication, and best practices.

  • Inspire, motivate, and hold team members accountable for project delivery, QA/QC, discipline excellence and technical quality, documents quality and best practices in the execution of work.

  • Collaborate with the Business Center and local leaders to gather feedback and ensure that the integrated design process is delivering high quality results, making course corrections when necessary.

  • Collaborate with local area leadership, including Project Managers, to ensure the office meets its operation goals and adheres to the PM framework.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Established client relationships and strong knowledge of the Industrial Water consulting and engineering market in Western Canada and globally.

  • Strong understanding of the EPC/EPCM, DB, and PDB Project Delivery Models

  • Proven technical expertise and business development experience in Industrial Water projects.

  • Strong technical background in water treatment, wastewater treatment, process water, or related industrial applications.

  • Track record of leading complex projects and delivering high-quality client service.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining long-term client relationships (North American consulting experience is considered an asset).

  • Strong people-leadership skills with the ability to build cohesive and productive teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to champion both technical and customer service excellence with conviction and purpose.

  • Strong project management, planning, and delivery capabilities for projects with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • High level of integrity and results-driven approach.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design/engineering software.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Engineering or related equivalent.

  • Minimum of 15 years of Industrial Water related consulting experience.

  • Registered as a professional engineer with EGBC or APEGA or equivalent.

  • Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.

Pay Range:

• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$136,300.00 - $204,500.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
