Your Opportunity
As a Junior Construction Manager, you will support senior staff and act as an on‑site presence for Stantec during construction activities. You will work closely with project managers, designers, contractors, and client operations staff to help ensure safe, high‑quality construction at water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, roadway improvements, and other civil infrastructure.
This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to learn, enjoy working in the field, and want hands‑on experience with complex infrastructure construction.
What You’ll Do
Support constructability reviews and bid evaluations
Assist with coordinating project tasks across permitting, public outreach, real estate, controls, and other support functions
Help manage contract correspondence and documentation
Track construction project progress, schedules, and budgets under the guidance of senior team members
Review and process contractor payment applications
Interpret technical drawings and specifications with support from senior engineers, discipline leaders and construction managers
Assist with change management documentation
Promote quality and safety practices across all activities
Coordinate with inspection staff and outside testing teams
Participate in construction meetings, site walks, and project closeout
Assist with submittals, RFIs, design clarifications, and field documentation
Support field surveys and monitor daily construction activity
Communicate with governing agencies as needed
Participate in equipment testing, training, startup, and warranty activities
Help respond to delays, field issues, and disruptions in collaboration with the project team
Contribute to a positive, collaborative project environment
What You Bring
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Clear and professional communication skills
A team‑oriented mindset and a willingness to learn
Basic understanding of construction processes, safety practices, and document management
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or the desire to develop this skill
Interest in the water industry and a passion for working on infrastructure that serves the community
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Candidates with equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience are welcome to apply.
Experience in water or wastewater construction is a plus but not required.
Certification as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is a future opportunity, and not an expectation for this role.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
