Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Senior Plumbing Manager to lead the delivery of complex plumbing and process system projects across multiple offices. This role provides technical leadership, mentorship, quality oversight, and project management support while contributing to the development of standards, staff, and long-term practice growth. The position balances hands-on technical expertise with leadership, coordination, and strategic support to multidisciplinary project teams.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead complex plumbing projects and oversee project budgets, schedules, and teams across multiple offices
Mentor and coach engineers on industry best practices and technical aspects of plumbing and process system design
Recommend and support training opportunities, including classes, seminars, and lunch-and-learn sessions
Stay current on new plumbing and related code requirements and communicate updates to staff
Assist in developing and maintaining plumbing standards, details, design processes, and specifications
Ensure quality control processes are followed throughout project execution
Conduct quality control reviews for selected projects
Develop and manage schedules and budgets and directly assign staff to support successful project delivery
Remain current in plumbing design codes, standards, and best practices
Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads to develop scope, fees, staffing plans, and schedules
Coordinate with engineering discipline leads across multiple offices and represent Plumbing in engineering initiatives
Support hiring activities for new team members
Assist with proposal reviews and workload estimating and forecasting
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license and CPD required; NCEES preferred
Strong technical expertise in plumbing and process system design for large, complex facilities
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams across multiple offices
Proven mentoring and coaching skills for developing engineering staff
In-depth knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, standards, and design practices
Proficiency with Revit in a building systems design environment
Experience with compressed air systems, process systems (RO/DI/High Purity), and medical gas and vacuum systems preferred
Experience with UFC design criteria, healthcare facilities, municipal projects, and higher education facilities is a plus
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Education and Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering required
20+ years of experience designing plumbing and process systems for large, complex buildings required
Some travel required
