Our services include computer modeling and analyses, specialized structural strengthening, seismic evaluations and rehabilitation design, and condition inspections. Your Key Responsibilities We are currently seeking a Structural Engineering Student for our Ottawa office for a 12 to 16 month placement. The successful candidate will be part of the Structural Engineering team within the Building’s Engineering group.

The candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to Project Managers and Senior Structural Engineers in the design/analysis of new, renovated, and rehabilitated buildings` structures from the conceptual stage through to construction administration.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Demonstrated skill at organizing and planning work within tight deadlines.

Detailed attention to requirements and ensuring quality work. Demonstrates sound judgment and common sense at work.

The ability to work independently and maintain productivity unsupervised.

The discipline to maintain required safe work procedures in any environment. Experienced at working well in a team environment.

Strong English verbal and writing skills are required. French language skills are considered an asset.

Ability to travel within Canada may be required.

Current Driver's license is required.

Education and Experience

A working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is an asset.

Familiar with the National and Ontario Building Codes, CAN/CSA S16, A23.3, 086, S-136, AISC and other design guides.

A working knowledge of Structural Engineering Analysis /Design Software such as ETABS, SAP, SAFE STAAD.Pro, S- Frame, S-Concrete, is beneficial.

Pay Range:

• $23.37 - $32.07 Hourly

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
