The primary role of the Interior Designer is to interpret and translate the needs and desires of a client as well as any architectural direction set forth into cohesive interior design solution. This process may involve production of drawings (2D/3D), and written material to support the conceptual direction of interior design and FFE. This individual will often be required to present their ideas in formal and informal settings with a willingness and desire to hear and respond to constructive feedback. An individual at this level in their career is expected to perform their role within the standard of care acceptable to their peers in the industry. An Interior Designer is expected to work collaboratively with the architectural team, conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of interior design of a project, including but not limited to space planning, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications and FFE.
Your Key Responsibilities
Conducts interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, program, and other similar material.
Supports project team in the development of interior design documentation and presentation materials.
Assists in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
Utilizes BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
Participates in design critiques and pin-ups.
Assists in research of concept, benchmarks, materials, typology, and precedents.
Assists in material and furniture selections, space planning and communication with product representatives.
Ability to work with a team in the documentation of a construction set.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Solid and proven experience in Revit and the use of it as a design tool.
Experience with the most recent design software (Sketch-up, Rhino, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, etc.) is preferred.
Experience with design equipment (3D printer, laser cutter, etc.) is preferred.
Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively. To participate and collaborate in project team setting. To engage in creative and critical thought. To interpret sketches, drawings, program and other similar material. To communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written/graphic).

Ability to conduct space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with design program.
Basic understanding of lighting/fixtures.
Basic understanding of FFE and specifications.
Basic understanding of client's expectations of deliverables at different phases of projects including construction documents.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite; prefer experience with Newforma.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or related field is required.
Interior Design License preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience is preferred.

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$62,500.00 - $90,600.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
