What you’ll do?
Our Electrical Engineers form part of our wider water group providing safe drinking water and sanitation for both local and international communities. You have the opportunity to support other sectors within the Stantec business including Hydropower and Building Services.
You will design infrastructure to keep pump stations, water and wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) operational and running. You will have the opportunity to design power reticulation, instrumentation and controls systems automation, network architecture and site visits to monitor construction activities.
We seek to reduce our carbon footprint through innovate design solution like “poop to power” harnessing the methane gasses produced at WWTP to power the plant facilities.
You will be based in a central office with easy access to Dunedin's vibrant community. Your Role:
Enjoy working as a team, communicate well with others and can interact with clients.
Perform field work related to construction related activities as required.
Perform basic calculations to analyse and design electrical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacture software.
Assist team in preparing electrical designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions. Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.
Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
What You Bring:
Recent graduate with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (hon) or similar
Motivated, pragmatic, and eager to learn across various disciplines
Strong interest in water engineering
Demonstrated personal leadership qualities and thrive in challenging environments
Eligibility :
Be a recent graduate or due to finish studies by December 2026
Preferably have a full clean current driving licence
Working Rights: Student Visa, Permanent Resident, Citizen
