Your Opportunity

You will support the execution of various capital improvement programs. As a Scheduling professional at Stantec, you will apply skills in scheduling, reporting, cost controls, reporting, communications, and problem solving in a fast-paced, professional, design and construction environment under the guidance of the program manager and/or program director.

Your Key Responsibilities

Schedule Management

  • Supporting Program teams in developing, managing, updating, and monitoring the program schedule.

  • Manage and maintain schedule, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones and program objectives.

  • Interfacing and maintaining liaison with program and project management, stakeholders, client, contractors, and other consultants on all project scheduling related activities.

  • Support earned value analysis and contribute to monthly reporting with schedule narratives and trend analysis.

  • Coordinate change orders with team participants

Schedule Review

  • Review and evaluate contractor-proposed schedule submissions and changes, including time impact analyses, for validity and impact on the overall program schedule.

  • Monitor project progress with regards scope, time and costs. Provide corrective solutions if deviations occur.

  • Supporting, documenting, and tracking change management processes for potential adjustments to scope, schedule, or budget

Delay and Claims Support

  • Conduct delay analysis and proactively flag risks related to schedule slippage or low productivity.

  • Provide input on claims review and schedule-related dispute resolution.

Reporting

  • Responsible for supporting the Program teams in developing, updating and tracking the Program’s costs and schedule, and producing Program reports, as well as maintaining associated systems and tools

  • Adhering to project control processes to analyze project performance including change control, project updating, and reporting.

  • Document and communicate variance and trend analyses according to the change control process.

  • Display understanding of the role of performance measurement to produce a record of past performance, identify trends and forecast future performance in a manner that informs and drives management intervention.

  • Support maintenance of multi-year program baseline budget and cash flow projection of financial needs based on current schedules

  • Monitor and report on consultant and subconsultant expenditures

Process Development and QC

  • Recommend and Develop business and project processes including the assessment of existing processes for improvement

  • Responsible for supporting the Program team in implementation and best practice in the areas of Program and Project Scheduling.

  • Provide QA/QC of monthly reports prepared by project managers

  • Support the maintenance of business processes, systems, and tools to enable project Scheduling functions to be sustained over the life of the Program

  • Interface with project teams, design-build entities, and owner representatives to ensure alignment with program milestones.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Understanding of vertical building, transportation, and/or water construction related planning and scheduling concepts and ability to effectively communicate those concepts to others.

  • Ability to recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, analyzing, and maintaining task interdependencies, critical path method schedules, financial data, cost controls, budgets and detailed and summary reports

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, analyzing, and maintaining project/program schedules using Oracle Primavera P6

  • Experience with Project Integration Management, Project Time Management, and Project Cost Management as defined by the Project Management Institute including project definition, scheduling, cost control, planning, earned value analysis, forecasting, report production, cash flow maintenance and change management

  • In-depth understanding of the entitlements process, including permitting and inspections

  • Knowledge of design processes and construction administration, particularly for large-scale and commercial buildings and healthcare construction systems

  • Familiarity with large, complex mechanical and electrical systems and their installation and operation

  • Expertise in standard commercial design and construction contracts as well as equipment purchasing agreements

  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

  • Experience working within virtual collaborative work environments

  • Experience working with collaborative platforms such as SharePoint is desired

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business or related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in project cost and schedule controls required.

  • Experience with Primavera P6 is required and advanced use is mandatory.

  • Must be willing and able to travel.

#Program&ProjectControls

Pay Range:

• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas-$78,700.00 - $114,100.00 Annually

• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$86,600.00 - $125,500.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
