Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently looking for a Senior Risk Analyst to be part of our team on a permanent full-time position. Reporting to the Program Risk Lead, the Senior Risk Analyst will support one of the key projects of a large transportation program providing risk management responsibilities. The Senior Risk Analyst is responsible for all aspects of risk management: risk identification, risk analysis, response planning, risk mitigation, and risk monitoring. The Senior Risk Analyst must demonstrate an aptitude for efficiency, problem solving, and resourcefulness with a deep commitment to the Program goals.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of risk analysis services as part of capital projects delivery in compliance with Project and Program’s governance, processes, and objectives.

  • Will work with the risk team in creating and managing robust risk registers and generate analysis for the project.

  • Responsible for the management and execution of project risk and project delivery review processes in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Lead the program and project risk review meetings, maintain meeting minutes, prepare written recommendations and follow-up on implementation actions in collaboration with the program and project leadership team.

  • Consult with program and project teams and liaise with other risk team members to provide guidance on program and project risk management practices.

  • Facilitate communication between program and project leadership, project teams and risk committee members.

  • Prepare risk management reports and other tracking reports by documenting, analyzing and summarizing relevant information from a variety of sources for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support and contribute to the development of best practices for risk management including tools, processes, and policies.

  • Develop and manage program and project stakeholder and risk assessment databases through utilization of quantitative risk analysis and data management best practices.

  • Develop Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) review.

  • Facilitate risk analysis and review.

  • Work with the Project Delivery Team (PDT) to manage risks and issues.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Familiarity with Monte Carlo simulation and any experience with applicable software, such as P6 Risk Analyzer, is an asset.

  • Understanding of design and construction contracts and the relationship between risk management and controls/management functions including project management, change control, planning & scheduling, cost & commercial management, and reporting.

  • Evidence of previous experience in definition and delivery of risk management plans within projects.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.

  • Collaborative working style and behaviors.

Education and Experience

  • University Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related discipline

  • M.A.Sc. or M.B.A. degree in Civil Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or related field is a strong asset.

  • Certification in risk management (e.g. PMI-RMP).

  • More than seven (7) years of relevant experience in quantitative/qualitative cost/schedule risk assessment on large Programs and Projects.

  • Extensive experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) is mandatory.

  • Experience with other tools like @Risk and Primavera Risk Analysis is an asset.

  • Experience using Enterprise Risk Management tools, for example, Active Sr. Risk Analyst (ARM), Predict! and Oracle PPM (P6R) is an asset.

  • Experience in the delivery of risk throughout the program/project lifecycle including support of financial/funding decisions and delivery/implementation of stage gates at Program level.

  • Experience with large construction or infrastructure projects.

#Program&ProjectControls

Pay Range:

• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
