Senior / Principal Environmental Advisor - Water
Stantec
Are you driven to create solutions for the unprecedented climate, environmental, and efficiency challenges facing our clients and the wider community? Then come and join us at Stantec!
We are excited to continue our growth journey in Northern Ireland and we look forward continued expansion in the months ahead. We have an exciting pipeline of work locally for clients such as NI Water and Uisce Eireann and we also support the wider Stantec UK business in the delivery of a wide range of AMP8 projects and the Scottish Water Enterprise.
We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal Environmental Advisor/Scientist to join our teams. We are excited by the significant and sustained ongoing growth, and this presents a great opportunity to join an ambitious team that will provide you with ample scope for career progression in the years to come.
You will be involved in supporting and assisting in the delivery of client and project environmental objectives and targets. Primarily, you will assist the EIA and environmental management teams by conducting environmental planning reports, EIA screening and scoping, as well as environmental management studies and audits. Alongside this, you will be responsible for advising our clients on environmental and sustainability issues.
YOUR IMPACT
By joining our Belfast team, you aren’t just designing systems; you are safeguarding the future of Northern Ireland’s water infrastructure. Your expertise will be the catalyst for the AMP8 delivery in the UK, while you will turn complex climate challenges into sustainable realities for NI Water and Uisce Éireann. Whether you are optimizing a wastewater treatment plant or mentoring the next generation of local engineers, your work ensures that our communities have the resilient, efficient, and clean resources they need to thrive for decades to come.
About You
Ideally, you will hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in one of the following: Environmental Management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Science, or Environmental Planning that is accredited by the relevant professional body (CIWEM, IEMA, or RTPI).
You should be able to demonstrate capability as a client-focused Environmental Advisor, including experience in providing robust advice on routes to consent, critical environmental risks and opportunities, EIA, environmental management studies, and audits.
You will also be experienced in analysing and presenting data using a geographic information system (GIS). General knowledge of ecology, flood risk, town planning, and water resources would be beneficial.
