Your Opportunity
Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Tallahassee, Florida has an opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer – Site / Civil Engineering. We are seeking a candidate with experience in professional practice and design related to land development/community development.
This position will be involved with significant projects, interact with clients and government agencies and effectively working with a team. Responsibilities include design and preparation of site, grading, drainage, erosion control and utility plans as well as design reports. Your Key Responsibilities
Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
Utilize AutoCAD / Civil 3D in development of site plans, utility plans and grading plans.
Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
Participate in client project meetings.
Assist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
Lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
Perform and oversee the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Participate in constructability review.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on projects.
Work on multiple projects concurrently.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials.
General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
Excellent time-management skills.
Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, Hydraflow and ICPR / StormWise.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
5+ years of experience in the profession of Civil Engineering civil/site design.
Registered Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work. Hybrid work schedule available, with minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
