Role description :
To provide civil engineering technical expertise and knowledge to contribute to the successful delivery of tender/contract documentation, procurement/tendering, construction contract management, and monitoring, surveillance, and quality assurance (MSQA) activities for our client’s capital projects.

About the role :
Act in the role of Engineer’s Representative or Principal’s Representative Agent in the administration and surveillance of projects
Carry out constructability reviews of draft designs, specifications, and drawings.
Prepare tender documents and participate in the evaluation of tenders as required.
Liaise with external authorities, government agencies, community groups, and internal project teams to minimise the impact of works.
Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to junior team members and Engineer’s Representative Assistants.
Manage project meetings, ensuring discussions are documented and actions are clearly assigned.
Track, forecast, report on, and manage the financial performance of construction projects.
Maintain comprehensive documentation and record management in accordance with project plans and client requirements.
Build and maintain constructive working relationships with contractors, clients, and internal team members.
Serve as the primary client-facing representative on construction projects.
Undertake quality checks and design reviews of your own work and others to ensure compliance with required standards.
Manage assigned tasks and project components to deliver agreed outputs on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
Provide technical direction in road design and contribute to design reports for relevant projects.

Qualifications
About you:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 10 years’ relevant professional experience in civil engineering construction including earthworks, roads, concrete structures and pipelines.
Waka Kotahi Engineer to Contract Level 1 and / or Engineer’s Representative Level 2 accreditation, or sufficient experience to obtain these.
Central and local government and private sector experience.
Well developed problem solving and negotiation skills.
Be able to exercise your independent judgement & decision making skills
Strong investigation, analytical and report writing skills.
Able to build trust and provide support to peers and clients.
Experience in both the public and private sectors.
Have a strong interest in professional development and building a challenging career in transport engineering
