Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Downtown Los Angeles office is seeking a Project Manager that will lead multi-disciplined project teams to deliver fueling system engineering projects. You will apply engineering principles, your superior client service skills, and project management best practices to deliver fueling systems projects that meet the project requirements, exceed client expectations, and meet project financial and other objectives.
A Project Manager will serve as a “seller-doer” in assisting business development and then leading projects to successful completion.
Your Key Responsibilities
Successfully manages projects, and tasks of scope, complexity and revenue budget appropriate to experience.
Support and contribute to our Project Management best practices and methodology in alignment with our Project Management Frameworks and our culture of excellence in executing projects.
Serve as technical leader and subject matter expert for fueling system projects
Applies engineering and project management knowledge while leading multi-discipline resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets.
Shares knowledge with others by serving as a trainer, mentor, and resource.
Holds project team members accountable for deliverables.
Meets technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary and client service objectives for each project.
Applies strong engineering skills, experience and knowledge to the design and oversight of the design, for fueling systems projects.
Manages and plans the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for mechanical engineering projects.
May periodically act as QC reviewer on projects.
Effectively delegates work for production support staff.
Nurtures existing client relationships and proactively pursues opportunities for new business.
Develops and delivers project related client presentations.
Maintains and expands current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types and continually strengthens skills.
Proactively pursues additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending available in-house and external training.
Attends and leads in-house project meetings.
Actively participates in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support Business Center and firm-wide goals.
Promote the Stantec and Client safety programs, training and policies, as well as promote and manage Safety and Health performance of project team members and subcontractors
Promote innovation throughout all phases of the project.
Create and oversee project non-conformance reporting process.
Achieve utilization target as agreed annually
Set project schedules
Hold inside Fueling design team and collaborator
Developing project schedule and keeping team on track
Attend regular meetings including client meeting.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Expertise in managing projects, teams, and clients
Strong leader and team player, collaborator, and communicator with strong interpersonal skills and experience in managing a team.
Client consulting experience.
Experience in business development, proposal, and budget development.
Demonstrated leadership competencies.
Understanding and implementation of the principles of project management.
Ability to manage clients, projects, fees, scope, and teams to achieve budget, schedule and deliverable objectives while meeting key stakeholder critical success factors.
Experience in fueling systems, including petroleum, hydrogen and CNG
Experience in the Energy Transition projects, including EV charging, Renewables (Solar and Wind), or hydrogen fueling infrastructure (3-5 years) as lead project engineer or project manager
Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design
Engineering design and construction experience with large scale projects.
Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into projects.
Knowledge and experience to identify and manage items of risk that may occur on projects.
Knowledge and experience to identify and manage potential unanticipated scope.
Functional knowledge of BIM software, in particular, Revit MEP
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to travel to other offices as well as to project sites will be required.
Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License.
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience of permitting and entitlement planning
Experience executing Hydrogen fueling infrastructure projects
Construction Administration/Management
Public and private sector permitting and projects
Buildings, community development, and retail fueling planning and projects
Electrical or mechanical engineer
Knowledge of available funding/programs related to zero emissions fueling
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, or related sciences. Master’s degree in engineering, planning and/or related sciences is a plus.
Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in project management preferably for large engineering, design, and construction projects for energy sectors.
Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, and/or as a “seller-doer”.
Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E. license) is preferred

Pay Range:
• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas-$107,300.00 - $155,500.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
