Organizational Overview:
This team manages operations for Synchrony’s Debt Manager recovery system of record and the Recovery Data Warehouse (RDW), partnering with agile teams, business stakeholders, reporting, and IT to deliver enhancements that address data and reporting gaps across the recovery system solutions ecosystem.
Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP Business Solutions – Debt Manager Operations and Data Run support will drive and support run activities as it relates to the recovery system of record, Debt Manager, and Recovery Datawarehouse (RDW). This candidate will partner closely with RDW Agile teams, business, reporting, and other supporting IT teams to develop technology solutions and projects to close existing data and reporting gaps. This individual will work with various business functions across Synchrony to understand their use of Recovery Data and ensure existing and future systems meet those requirements
As part of RSS run activity oversight, this individual is also responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining batch jobs and workflows that run in various production and test environments. They will liaise between C&R and IT regarding updates or enhancements to batch job schedules using Stonebranch and Business Process Orchestrator and closely monitor SLAs. This candidate will conduct run promotion activities for Recovery System Solution and liaison with DMIT on deployment of custom technical solutions
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze Recovery Data requirements and partner closely with the Requestor, Reporting, and IT to develop technology solutions.
- Attend and support RDW intake and prioritization calls to understand emerging requests, identify potential solutions, and support the requestor through testing, promotion and post validation activities.
- Provide operational support for functions that utilize Recovery Data, assist solutions and ensure approved, documented, and successfully implemented.
- Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining batch jobs that run in various production and test environments.
- Synchrony key point of contact for C&R or internal incidents related to batch execution. Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed. Identify, diagnose, and resolve batch job failures or processing issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with application support, database teams, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot incidents.
- Liaise between C&R and IT regarding updates or enhancements to batch job schedules using Stonebranch and Business Process Orchestrator.
- Review DM IT Stonebranch batch activities to ensure handoffs are operating as designed.
- Monitor batch jobs and workflows to ensure successful execution within SLAs.
- Monitor overall Debt Manager system health.
- Creating internal monitoring as secondary monitoring controls.
- Review SLA exceptions and work with vendor on root cause analysis.
- Open appropriate C&R incident tickets and monitor through resolution. If Supplier risk is needed, ensure all defect and root cause analysis is presented to the Supplier Manager for entry into Coupa.
- Conduct run promotion activities for Recovery System Solution and liaison with DMIT on deployment of custom technical solutions.
- Document batch processes, runbooks, and incident resolution steps.
- Assist in batch job deployments and changes in production and test environments.
- Communicate effectively with business users regarding batch job status and incident updates.
- Continuously improve batch processing by identifying automation opportunities or optimization areas.
- Maintain compliance with security policies and audit requirements related to batch.
- Provide direction and support to other team members including mentorship.
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing recovery reporting.
- Complete other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in Recovery with hands on experience in ETL, SAS Studios, Oracle database, SQL or other data query tools or in lieu of a degree 5+ years’ of experience in Recovery, Financial industry & hands on experience in ETL, SAS Studios, Oracle database, SQL or other data query tools
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of IT, Data Analysis, Reporting, or similar roles.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in any: ETL, SAS Studios, Oracle database, SQL or other data query tools.
- Minimum of 3 years of database or software development, Project Management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in writing requirements.
- Strong PC skills, Excel, Access, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Outstanding collaborative and team management style.
- Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with Debt Manager, Oracle platform, ETL tools, Schemas, and XML schemes a plus.
- Knowledge of FD, GECOM, Vision Plus, Debt Manager and Fiserv applications.
- Proven ability to successfully manage and implement projects on time and on budget.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in Recovery with hands on experience in ETL, SAS Studios, Oracle database, SQL or other data query tools or in lieu of a degree 5+ years’ of experience in Recovery, Financial industry & hands on experience in ETL, SAS Studios, Oracle database, SQL or other data query tools
Work Timing:This role requires the candidate to work from Hyderabad office
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
