As Sr. Manager, Brand Marketing Finance, you’ll support understanding and managing Target’s total investment in Brand Marketing across media and production expenses. You’ll provide financial planning and analysis leadership, partner closely with Marketing leadership to improve how brand performance is evaluated, and support teams across Marketing and Merchandise Finance by bringing clarity, alignment, and insight to complex investment decisions.

You’ll play a critical role in building strong financial routines, establishing recap and retro processes for Brand performance, and helping partners understand expense drivers and available levers. This role requires operating effectively in gray spaces, developing new cross-functional processes, and bringing stakeholders along on learnings to influence future marketing investments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis routines for Brand Marketing across media and production expenses, including forecast, actuals, and goals.
  • Partner with across the marketing organization to understand measurement reporting and KPIs and establish recap and retro routines to inform future Brand investments.
  • Support the Target Creative organization by managing expenses such as Item Photography, Sports Sponsorships, and other related marketing spend.
  • Analyze Brand Marketing and Creative expenses to clarify key drivers, expense recognition timing, and track available expense levers throughout the year.
  • Develop cross-functional processes that align partners and drive clarity in how we fund various marketing campaigns.

About You:

  • MBA or 4-year degree with 6+ years relevant finance or business experience.
  • Strong partner and communicator who can work cross-functionally with Marketing and Finance and tailor communication to a wide range of partners and leaders
  • Strategically minded, with the ability to operate in gray spaces and align others on how to approach complex or undefined problems
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, understand expense drivers, and distinguish between expense recognition and actionable business levers
  • Self-starter who can prioritize, initiate work, and develop an approach independently while operating on a team
  • Curious, with a strong desire to understand Brand Marketing processes and challenge how the business evaluates its own work

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
