The pay range is $88,000.00 - $158,000.00

The Stores Performance, Insights, Data & Analytics Team rapidly develops and deploys new innovations to improve existing processes and enable new capabilities that drive productivity, create a great Guest and Team Member experience. The Stores Performance, Insights, Data & Analytics Team leverages business experience, thought leadership, and analytical acumen to elevate problem solving for Stores. Stores Performance, Insights, Data & Analytics Team provides an ideal opportunity to work within a highly collaborative team managing complex solutions. Here, you’ll leverage data, statistics, and visualization to create actionable insights that deliver value across all Target functions. Primary Function:

As a Sr. Stores Analyst, you’ll be part of a team of analysts supporting Stores through active exploration of data, technologies and the application of mathematical techniques that enables actionable business insights to include the development of metrics, reports and statistics. A very critical role you’ll play is sharing out these insights through training/communication opportunities with end users to gather feedback, apply learned insights and testing in partnership with business users. Along the way you’ll be applying best practices for data wrangling, analysis and visualization by sharing well documented solutions with others (clients, peers, etc.) while upskilling on new and emerging technologies with a continuous improvement mindset. In addition, active participation in team meetings and contributing to agile ceremonies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively exploring data for specific use cases
  • Creating measurable insights from the data to be shared
  • Developing metrics, reports, and statistics
  • Documenting calculations, code, and adhering to data management principles
  • Validating and testing data assets of others in the form of peer review
  • Exploring statistical analysis that could be applied to the data
  • Performing descriptive statistics including mean, variance, median, correlation
  • Applies insights and testing in partnership with business users
  • Active participant in team meetings
  • Contribute in agile ceremonies

Reporting/Working Relationships:

Works directly with product owners, process owners, other analysts and engineers to gain insight and access to relevant data. Engages with product owners and users to deliver completed work. Active participant in Data and Analytics functions and training.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Math, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience).
  • 3 plus years of experience in reporting and data visualization
  • Extensive exposure to: visualization, coding, business consulting, database architecture, data mining, statistical analysis, and collaboration with business partners
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to learn, use, and teach reporting tools
  • Good understanding of BI and Data dependencies
  • Demonstrate Testing and Research design; apply the scientific method and experimental design; generate insight from observation data
  • Demonstrated experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, Scala, etc.
  • Stays current with new and evolving tech via formal training and self-directed education
  • Proven experience quickly adapting to changing priorities and tasks
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
