The pay range per hour is $20.82 - $37.45

HR Shared Services plays a critical role in this mission as the central hub of our HR organization—integrating people, processes, and technology to deliver a seamless, human-centric experience. Role Summary
As an HR Specialist, you will provide accurate and empathetic HR support in a digital-first environment by applying HR knowledge, defined workflows, and judgment within established guidelines. This role focuses on resolving team member inquiries through primarily digital channels while supporting the effectiveness of Target’s team member experience by identifying patterns, flagging issues, and contributing feedback to improve content, workflows, and self-service outcomes.
- Provide timely and accurate HR support through digital channels by applying working knowledge of HR policies, processes, and lifecycle events to resolve inquiries within established guidelines and service expectations, escalating issues appropriately when resolution thresholds are met.
- Apply judgment within defined parameters to review, validate, and correct AI-generated HR responses for individual interactions, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with Target standards.
- Use critical thinking skills to diagnose inquiry issues, follow defined workflows, and identify appropriate resolution or escalation paths.
- Document recurring issues, inquiry themes, or experience gaps and share insights from digital interactions to support content updates, process improvements, and automation opportunities.
- Actively participate in feedback loops that strengthen HR knowledge content and self-service pathways.
- Perform routine audits of HR records, digital content, and inquiry data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to documented standards.
- Maintain performance standards across productivity, quality, and service experience.
- Support digital effectiveness by contributing to reduced repeat inquiries, accurate resolution, and consistent use of defined digital workflows.
- Support testing of new tools, workflows, and system enhancements by executing assigned test scenarios and providing structured feedback on usability and effectiveness.
- Support the onboarding of new team members and peer development by reinforcing documented best practices and standard work.
- Demonstrate agility by adapting to evolving processes, technologies, and business needs.
- Build HR capability and digital skills through ongoing learning, feedback, and proactive development.
About You:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office Package
- Team Player/Attitude and Self-motivated
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain established team quality standards
- Good problem-solving skills and innovation.
- 2+ years of HR work experience preferred
- Workday, HRIS and ChatGPT system experience preferred
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
