Target Store Experience is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how this $100 billion retailer offers the innovative, guest-inspiring items and experiences that can only be found at Target. Our goal is to deliver exceptional value, quality, and style to elevate Target as the premier retailer in a competitive marketplace. Through bold, distinct, affordable business strategies that make the most of Target’s resources and partnerships worldwide, Store Experience works across product categories to create a localized shopping experience across our 2,000 stores. Are you a creative problem solver who loves to see your work translate into real results? Can you collaborate effectively, execute a plan efficiently and positively influence how Target chooses and presents the right product in the right place and at the right time? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

A role with Space, Presentation & Transitions means you’re on a mission to create an elevated store experience for team members and our guest.

The role will lead critical work focused on driving fundamental change to the frequency, timing, and how we introduce change (“transitions”) in all stores and across all merchandising categories. The role will also lead the store experience decisions that support our New Store and Remodel programs. We do this by using analytics to determine the appropriate amount of change as well as footage for each assortment for every store (“adjacency”). Furthermore, the role will lead the determination of when, where and how each store's assortment is assigned to a planogram (POG) which is developed via the Presentation to ensure the localized assortment meets merchandising and presentation objectives. We believe that making increasingly better transition, New Store & Remodel, space allocation and presentation decisions will increase sales, improve guest satisfaction, and drive efficiencies in stores. Here, you’ll partner with and manage global cross-functional project teams in Merchandising, Planning & Inventory Management, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, Store Design, Marketing and Non-Retail Procurement from strategy to execution to achieve an inspiring and convenient in-store experience.

This leader will:

  • Lead a Pyramid Space, Presentation & Transition team responsible for determining New Store, Remodel, and Transition Plans as well as adjacency and planogram plans (Strategy Development and Planning).

  • Partner with our Target in India team to deploy accurate, on-time, complete, and on budget POGs and Adjacencies.

  • Influence operations, data, and product (technology) and new ways of working together to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness of planograms.

  • Modernize SPT operating model and capabilities

  • Develop annual transition plans in support of enterprise priorities and merchandise activation plans

  • Bring both data, innovation and consistency to how we evaluate adjacency, transitions and POG effectiveness, introducing new data including improved visibility to operating profit, competitive benchmarking, and guest perception

  • Partner with Target’s Merchandising Senior Vice Presidents and Quarterly Roundtable partners by leading quarterly strategy development & hind sighting for Enterprise Space, and governing key activation milestones.

  • Coach, develop, and build a best-in-class culture of excellence across a team of 65+ team members.

Core responsibilities are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

  • Known as a guest-led, global, enterprise-first leader with broad enterprise experience

  • Known as a horizontal leader, meaning the ability to lead cross-functionally with an expanded definition of global team and inclusive of the expanded global roundtable

  • Known as a culture creator who builds high-functioning teams and roundtables

  • Known to be curious, challenge the status quo, and manage through change while balancing guest, team and operations

  • Known as a clear communicator that drives clarity, connection and delivers results

  • Preferred track record of partnering with Product & Data teams to build solutions to operations and business

  • Travel < 15%

  • Hybrid only

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs.
