In Corporate Affairs, you’ll have the opportunity to play a critical role in enhancing and protecting Target’s brand and enabling growth across the business. With a broad range of complementary capabilities in Communications, Stakeholder Management, Reputational Risk, and Intelligence & Operations, this team helps Target manage the needs and expectations of our team, guests, media, communities, elected officials, and other stakeholders.
This role creates new ways Corporate Affairs (CA) uses intelligence to inform decisions, identify opportunities, anticipate risk, and strengthen Target's reputation. The Sr. Consultant embeds intelligence into CA priorities and initiatives, ensuring teams have timely, actionable insights to guide decision-making. This includes translating intelligence on reputation, risk, stakeholders, and emerging issues into clear recommendations that support business objectives.
The role is responsible for building and scaling CA's intelligence capabilities, including how information is sourced, analyzed, synthesized, and delivered. As part of a new intelligence team, this role will contribute to developing consistent intelligence frameworks, products, and processes that provide forward-looking insights aligned to business needs. A key responsibility is establishing and advancing predictive indicators that identify reputational risks and opportunities early, enabling proactive planning and response.
The Lead Consultant also connects intelligence sources across the enterprise to improve visibility, coordination, and knowledge sharing. The role supports the evolution of CA's central intelligence hub, contributes to enterprise insights and reporting routines, and ensures intelligence is integrated into reputation planning, issue management, and decision-making processes. In addition, it oversees ongoing monitoring and deep-dive analysis to maintain awareness of the external environment and provide timely guidance on emerging developments.

About You:
- 5-10 years of experience leading complex process transformation and systems initiatives that drive operational excellence, scalability, and business performance.
- Strong executive-level written, verbal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex business challenges, data, and stakeholder perspectives into strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
- Experienced leading in fast-paced, evolving environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining focus on business outcomes and organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated success operating within highly matrixed organizations, building alignment across business, technology, and operational teams to drive enterprise-wide initiatives and change.
- Skilled at navigating ambiguity, establishing strategic direction, and creating clarity in situations with evolving requirements, competing priorities, and limited information.
- Proven leader of cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, influencing without direct authority, and driving results in high-pressure environments.
- Recognized for creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate vision into execution while delivering measurable impact.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
