Job Description

The Risk & Credit Infrastructure Delivery Team within the TDS Data, Delivery and Integration (DDI) group is responsible for expanding market and credit risk reporting/analytic capabilities for the dealer in support of various regulatory, industry and business-driven initiatives. To deliver this mandate, our team partners with cross functional stakeholder groups in TD Bank and TD Securities (TDS) including teams in Market Risk, Product Control, Operations, Front Office, Platform Technology, Finance/Accounting, and Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM).

The Delivery Lead will provide stream leadership and expertise on one or more of the following projects that comprise the Risk & Credit Infrastructure Project Delivery portfolio:

Interest Rate Risk on the Banking Book (IRRBB), a BCBS/OSFI regulation requiring that a bank's non-trading market risks be adequately measured, reported and managed. The project aims to onboard key TDS portfolios onto the IRRBB framework, which involves calculation of Net Interest Income Sensitivity (NIIS) and Economic Value of Equity Sensitivity (EVES) metrics. Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), a set of Basel/BCBS regulatory guidelines that will dictate rules for how the bank arrives at its minimum regulatory capital requirements for its wholesale trading business. This involves adhering to a framework to observe the regulatory boundary between trading and banking book activities, implementing the Standardized Approach methodology for calculating risk-based capital and satisfying go-live requirements across multiple jurisdictions worldwide.

The team thrives in a highly cohesive and collaborative environment, promoting opportunities for knowledge sharing across projects and for developing broader stakeholder networks and subject matter expertise. The scope of our delivery mandate is dynamic as it adapts to align with the firm's priorities throughout the year. The team is a great fit for individuals with versatile project management/business analysis/technical skillsets who are motivated to overcome steep learning curves and build strong partnerships across the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Structure and manage detailed end-to-end implementation plans, holding stakeholders accountable for progressing against established scope/timelines.

  • Develop a strong working relationship with technology partners, communicate effectively with developers on implementations.

  • Facilitate detailed requirements discussions across stakeholder groups and promote optimal testing plan/strategies.

  • Formulate recommendations regarding delivery/implementation approach after consultation with key stakeholder groups on estimated effort, resource availability, cross-program dependencies, and other implementation constraints.

  • Proactively identify and manage cross-stakeholder group interdependencies.

  • Ability to consume domain / subject matter expertise quickly in differing spaces in risk & valuations.

  • Summarize and communicate complex problems in a summarized, effective manner to senior management.

  • Dive deep into quantitative problems while working closely with subject matter experts in model and quant teams.

Qualifications / Skills / Experiences

  • In-depth familiarity with market risk and valuation concepts, technology infrastructure, and/or VaR/stress/capital methodologies obtained through previous experience in a capital markets function.

  • Familiarity with trading book and banking book risk relating to either Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) Standardized Approach or Interest Risk on the Banking Book (IRRBB) is an added asset.

  • Superior organizational skills, including ability to employ systematic approach for identifying and tracking dependencies, ensuring proper resolution of outstanding items, and structuring efficient stakeholder meetings/discussions.

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), including ability to formulate concise and impactful methods of communication.

  • Ability to operate in an unstructured environment and demonstrated ability to consistently apply expert judgment with available information when proposing solutions/recommendations.

  • Advanced data manipulation skills - ability to investigate and derive findings/conclusions from large data sets.

  • Familiarity with Python, JSON, APIs is an asset.

Education Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent

  • CFA or FRM designation an asset.

  • Strong academic foundation in mathematics / financial mathematics, statistics, finance or computer science.
