Job Description:
TD Reinsurance (Barbados) Inc. (TDRB) is a reinsurance company domiciled in Barbados. The Company's ultimate parent is The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD Bank), one of Canada’s largest financial institutions. The TDRB subsidiary has been in operation for more than 30 years and is regulated locally by The Financial Services Commission.
TDRB assumes Life & Health Insurance risks from Canadian primary insurers and General Insurance risks from an affiliate insurance company within the TD Bank Group (TDBG). TDRB also assumes Life & Health Insurance and Annuities risks from large European reinsurers and likewise retrocedes Canadian Life & Health risks to these reinsurers.
The Risk Analyst Intern/Co-op position will support the Actuarial, Risk Management, Anti-Money Laundering/Know-Your-Customer (AML/KYC), Governance, Regulatory and Compliance strategic functions of TDRB's operations.
The Risk Analyst will report directly to the Barbados AVP, TD Insurance.
Key Accountabilities:
Assist with preparation of quarterly risk reporting via Risk Dashboards and Key Indicator Dashboards.
Support the Actuary on annual counterparty due diligence, experience analyses, and capital reporting.
Assist with the review and update of business Policies and Procedures in accordance with review cycles.
Assist with compilation of information for presentation at Monthly Management meetings.
Support the Compliance Officer in carrying out regulatory and compliance related tasks including Anti-Money Laundering/Know-Your-Customer screening activities.
Support the TDRB team with ad-hoc requests and other deliverables.
Job Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Sciences, Management, Business Administration or other related field
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term
Working knowledge of or willingness to learn Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and collaborative software such as WebEx and MS Teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment
Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Additional Details:
While the TDRB Team is based in Barbados, the Risk Analyst (Summer Co-op/Intern) position is expected to be filled in Canada. Therefore, team collaboration will be via remote connection. The successful applicant will be required to work from a physical TD location at least 2 days per week in accordance with TD's hybrid workplace model.
This position is a 4-month work term and will commence May 5th – August 29th, 2025.
