Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled intern to join our cash equity sales and trading team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting sales and trading through actionable insights, data-driven analysis, and model development. This role is ideal for someone with strong programming capabilities and a passion for market mechanics and quantitative research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Access & Analyst Support: Collaborate with sales to facilitate corporate access and analyst interactions, providing data-driven insights to enhance client engagement.

  • Algorithmic Performance Analytics: Conduct detailed analysis of algorithmic trading performance, including latency, execution quality, and slippage metrics, and suggest enhancements.

  • Model Evaluation & Improvement: Assess existing trading and forecasting models for robustness and efficacy. Propose refinements based on empirical performance and emerging methodologies.

  • Market Microstructure & Index Research: Investigate trading behavior and market mechanics, including liquidity dynamics, order book behavior, and index rebalancing effects.

  • Market Impact & Style Factor Analysis: Analyze the impact of large orders on market prices and perform studies on factor exposures and portfolio tilts, potentially contributing to internal and client-facing research.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong programming experience with Python and proficiency in SQL

  • Solid understanding of equity markets, market microstructure, and trading workflows

  • Experience with quantitative research, algorithmic trading analytics, or related fields

  • Ability to work with large datasets and generate clear, actionable insights

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance attribution and transaction cost analysis (TCA)

  • Familiarity with index methodologies and rebalancing dynamics

  • Exposure to style factor modeling (e.g., value, momentum, quality)

  • Background in statistics, applied mathematics, financial engineering, or a related discipline
