Marketing and Business Development Manager

The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for a Marketing and Business Development Manager to join our Boston, Chicago, New York, or Washington, DC office. The position will help increase market visibility of and facilitate business growth within the firm’s Securities & Finance practices. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing and Business Development, this individual will work closely with key consulting stakeholders, Marketing colleagues, the Corporate Operations team, and the Business Support Services team to drive all relevant marketing and business development strategies from conceptualization to implementation.
Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:
- Acting as a driving force in developing and implementing marketing and business development strategies at the individual, practice, and management group level
- Serving as a coach and catalyst for next generation consulting leaders at the firm, helping to scope business development plans and ensure they are being implemented
- Working as a strategic advisor to Corporate Services colleagues across geographies, connecting regional teams with broader Marketing support
- Conducting client and competitor research in support of new and changing market opportunities in various geographies and lines of business
- Facilitating the development, publication, and promotion of thought leadership and collateral, such as white papers, client alerts, and brochures
- Attending local networking events as helpful, to help elevate the Brattle brand in key areas of business and connect potential clients with Brattle consultants
- Developing digital initiatives to support the practices’ go-to-market strategies, including but not limited to video, infographics, and other interactive content
- Researching, recommending, and facilitating memberships, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and advertising opportunities with a strategic, long-term focus on building practice- and firm-level brand awareness
- Serving as a liaison between consultants and the rest of the Marketing team and related services, acting as a key catalyst and working to ensure projects stay on task
THE CANDIDATE
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications preferred
- 8+ years’ marketing experience, preferably in economic consulting, the legal industry, or other professional services firms. Experience with Securities & Finance practices a strong plus
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team and interface with management-level staff
- Working knowledge of customer relationship, pipeline, and experience management databases such as InterAction, Salesforce, and/or Foundation
- Ability to exercise excellent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality on matters large and small
- Ability to handle multiple and shifting tasks and demands with an eye towards strategic planning and tactical implementation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team as needed
- Takes pride in working within a high-quality, high-integrity organization
- Travel will be required
- Ability to work overtime when required
Brattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in New York, NY is $116,000 - $151,000 annually. Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training.
