This role is part of the Global Communications team and will specifically support both internal and external communications for Capital’s Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. The successful candidate will develop and execute communication projects that inform, engage, and empower Capital Group associates and external stakeholders across Europe and Asia-Pacific, supporting alignment and consistency across the two communications teams.

For internal communications, your work will connect associates to our business, our leaders and one another, ensuring they have access to relevant, timely, high-quality communication about important business and workplace issues.

For external communications, you will support the External Communications team on media campaigns and projects to bolster and protect the firm’s distinct reputation in the press.

This role is predominantly focused on internal communications (approximately 70% of your time, with the remaining 30% on external). The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on standardized/recurring assignments and under the direct supervision of more senior staff on complex projects, analyses, and tasks.

Primary responsibilities/essential functions

Develops original content.

  • Uses creative storytelling techniques when developing all content to create an emotional connection with the audience.

  • Conducts basic research and gathers insight from multiple sources to develop effective key messaging for communication.

  • Ensures content aligns with business goals, communicates the desired message to the intended audience, and adheres to corporate brand standards.

  • Develops original multi-media content for a range of internal and external channels, including, but not limited to, memos, talking points, FAQs, press releases, articles, live events, webinars, presentation decks, email, social content, posters, videos, and infographics.

  • Synthesizes input from sources with diverse perspectives to create content representative of collective contributors.

Develops and executes communications projects.

  • Consults with clients to understand their business and develops communication projects that meet business objectives and are engaging and in keeping with Capital’s culture and brand standards.

  • Develops and adheres to a project schedule for less complex communication projects.

  • Works with internal associates and outside vendors and stakeholders to develop high-quality visual and multi-media content within established timeframes and budgets.

  • Ensures all members of the project team, client and direct supervisor are apprised of the project status, required deliverables, the review process, and the completion schedule.

  • Facilitates meetings as needed.

  • Prioritizes projects of highest value to be completed by the Global Communications team.

  • Provides consultation on transactional projects that the client should complete using their own resources.

Skills/qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of internal communication and engagement

  • An interest in external communications and media/public relations

  • Ability to lead and manage projects within the team.

  • Ability to plan processes and work for a group or team to assure work is completed in a timely manner.

  • Knowledge of and interest in following current and future communications practices, trends, and technology

  • Encourages diverse thinking and creative problem solving. Suggest new ideas to drive communications objective.

  • Ability to collaborate and develop/maintain relationships within an organization and strong team member.

  • Ability to influence others.

  • Demonstrate initiative by identifying issues and recommending solutions.

  • Demonstrate effectiveness in leading/facilitating a variety of meetings.

  • Preferably experience in a financial services/asset management environment

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
