Fee Consulting Manager, Senior
The Capital Group
The Company
Capital Group, a global asset manager based in Los Angeles, CA. Founded by Jonathan Bell Lovelace in 1931 during the Great Depression, the firm remains privately held by more than 400 key investment professionals and business leaders. In 1934, Capital Group assumed management of The Investment Company of America, which evolved into the American Funds family of mutual funds, now totaling over $2.9 trillion in AUM as of June 2024.
Today, Capital Group employs more than 8,800 associates, including over 350 investment professionals across 32 offices worldwide. The firm manages money for institutions, financial intermediaries, and individual investors through actively managed equity, fixed income, and balanced investment portfolios. Driven by core principles such as a distinctive and repeatable approach, deep fundamental research, a long-term view, and strong client relationships, Capital Group has built a reputation for superior investment results and competitive fees. Generally, the firm offers services with fees in the lower quartile of their competitive universes, aligned with vehicle and market standards to meet client needs.
To scale successfully as a global, multi-vehicle asset manager, competitive pricing is foundational. Fee levels must align with market, vehicle, client, scale, and service. The intensity of competition across all segments and markets continues to drive lower fees. Capital Group’s global fee framework is critical for internal asset growth in different vehicles and markets and external scaling through various channels and partnerships. Our pricing strategy must:
- Continue to deliver competitive fees for new launches based on defined opportunities by market, channel, and intermediary, while navigating fee implications for existing offerings.
- Look beyond regulatory and industry changes to consider current and projected competitive market rates and client expectations.
- Consider CG positioning globally alongside long-term organizational health.
