Audience Journey and Delivery Lead Director, Japan is responsible for developing client-centric and target audience specific strategies and executions of work that strengthens CG's reputation and builds brand awareness. The role includes collaborating with other teams on their work to ensure our brand is represented consistently across all Japan marketing efforts.
Audience Journey and Delivery Lead Director, Japan is also accountable for defining, developing and implementing brand building audience journeys and content ecosystems for specific target audience segments by working closely with partners in market research, digital, mobile, other client marketing associates and agencies.
The Japan business segments consist of fund distributors’ gate keepers and advisors, end-investors on on-line banking and broker platforms, DB pension funds (public and private), DC segments including plan sponsors, and financial institutions.
- Develops the optimum audience journey experience, including channel plan with knowledge of key investor and/or intermediary audience segments and the KPIs that will be most critical to achieve business and brand objectives.
- Works closely with the Country Marketing, Publishing and Writer teams in Product and Content Marketing associates to develop appropriate and suitable content and messaging to achieve joint goals and inform a learning agenda for input into subsequent journeys.
- Drives the development of best in class go-to-market strategies ensuring that journey plans are fit for audience purpose (digital first where possible)
- Is the go-to person in the team for expertise on digital marketing best practice based on testing, optimization, and analytics to evolve the client experience.
- Thinks ‘out of the box’ and stays current with digital innovation and platforms to deliver innovative and high quality client journey experiences
- Improves on existing processes to enhance CG’s competencies. Drives the end-to-end audience journey across brand building initiatives for all audience segments (campaigns, channels, events, etc.).
- Continuously evolves and enhances customer journey plans via a PDCA (what is this??) cycle approach – driving daily use of KPIs and in-market feedback to identify challenges and continuously seek for solutions.
- Leads the development and execution of effective and break-through audience-specific and/or brand building communications.
- Drives channel best practice execution, optimization and partnership with functional leadership across EACG marketing.
- Ensures consistency and quality of user experience for given client segment.
- Defines, manages and allocates budgets to achieve audience journey objectives
- Serves as the point of contact for external service providers and agencies to ensure targeted strategies and business goals are met.
- Coordinates with marketing associates on the management of agency roster, budgets and quality of agency deliverables for individual campaigns and projects.

- Substantial years of asset management marketing experience primarily in Japan.
- In-depth knowledge of the Japan financial intermediaries (retail fund industry), institutional, asset management industries.
- Able and willing to work on strategic initiatives as well as on executions.
- Strong stakeholder management in English as well as in Japanese. i.e. persuasion and influencing skills and project management skills
- Entrepreneurial, innovative and creative – able to suggest new marketing ideas to drive sales & increase client engagement.
- Fluent English a distinctive advantage
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
