The Europe and Asia-Pacific Client Group (EACG) is focused on establishing Capital Group as the partner of choice for financial intermediaries and institutional clients across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and U.S. Offshore/Latin America. EACG has 14 client groups which represent the key opportunities for CG outside of North America, where we sell a range of investment solutions including mutual funds (Lux funds), segregated mandates, and other investment services.

We are seeking an experienced capital markets leader with deep UCITS product, market, and distribution expertise to build and optimize Capital Group’s capital markets function. You will be the primary connection into Capital Group for key players (Authorized Participants and Market Makers), working closely with the Head of ETF Product & Capital Markets team to build the infrastructure necessary to establish our UCITS program in Europe.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with the Head of ETF Product & Capital Markets, senior business leaders, and cross functional teams in the investment group, distribution, operations, legal, risk and compliance to ensure operational excellence in design, delivery and ongoing evolution of our UCITs capital markets function in Europe.

  • Working with the ETF product team to support product design and development.

  • Monitoring and facilitating UCITS trading in primary and secondary markets by monitoring the market and building and maintaining strong relationships with Authorized Participants and Market Makers. Working effectively with those partners on the trading of our UCITS through the primary and secondary market.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the sales teams, by providing ongoing training, education, and updates about Capital Group’s ETFs. Assist sales teams, advisors and/or clients with UCITS and 40 Act ETF trading strategies.

  • Working closely with the Investment Group, Trading and Investment Operations team(s) to execute an effective create-redeem process.

  • Working closely with the product team to ensure that our UCITS products are structured for efficient trading, including obtaining input on basket design from market participants.

  • Keeping abreast of industry and regulatory developments as they affect UCITS trading and capital market activities and formulating Capital Group’s responses.

Qualifications & Ideal Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant asset management industry experience, including extensive experience with trading UCITS products.

  • Established thought leader with a strategic and analytical mindset, and a deep understanding of the UCITS ecosystem in Europe.

  • Existing relationships with APs, Market Makers, and other participants in the UCITS ecosystem in Europe.

  • Exhibits knowledge of UCITS fundamentals and the factors that drive pricing and liquidity.

  • Exhibits knowledge in current and possible internal and external future policies, practices, trends, technology, regulations, and information affecting UCITS, the asset management industry and CG overall.

  • Exhibits understanding of specific issues a new ETF platform roll-out must be addressed.

  • Successful track record working in a matrixed environment.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
