Business Development Associate Snr - Financial Intermediaries

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Business Development Associate (Associate Director) to join our UK financial intermediaries (FIT) sales team which is composed of three experienced Business Development Managers (BDMs) and a Senior Business Development Associate. The UK financial intermediaries market forms a key part of Capital Group’s plan to grow our Global Financial Intermediary distribution business towards Capital’s Centennial year in 2031.
The Senior BDA position is an integral part of the UK FIT sales team. The role will work predominantly with the Head of UK Client Group, BDMs, Senior BDA and assistants supporting the UK FIT team. The role will report to one of the BDMs responsible for the BDAs. This team is responsible for developing Capital’s intermediary business in the UK. You will focus on activity designed to maximise sales opportunities with clients and prospects; specifically setting up meetings, often via cold calls, generating leads and working closely with BDMs on pre and post meeting sales generation. The ideal candidate would also have strong knowledge of the UK financial intermediary industry in the South of England and be responsible for relationships in this region day to day.
The role is based in our London office which is our largest investment office outside the US, where we employ over 650 people in a new state of the art building at Paddington Square. We expect the successful candidate to focus their time on the UK, be in the office 4 days a week, with short trips throughout the year.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
Target market
Supporting the UK BDMs in their coverage of UK Wealth Managers (regional and head offices), Financial Advisers, Private Banks and Global Financial Intermediaries based in the UK
Opportunistic coverage of platforms, ratings agencies, other key market participants
Knowledge of UK financial intermediary industry in the South of England and be responsible for relationships in South of England day to day
Sales process
Making outbound calls to introduce Capital and secure meetings with prospects for the sales team
Generating, preparing for and participating in prospecting meetings with BDM’s and independently
Coordination of follow-up items from each meeting including entering high quality call reports into Salesforce.com
Handling inbound prospect or due diligence requests
Proactively managing and resolving internal issues relating to winning business
Liaison with other teams at Capital as part of the sales cycle (Sales teams in other markets, Investment Directors, Investment Professionals, Marketing, Client Service, RFP team, Legal etc)
Representing Capital at proprietary and industry conferences/ seminars, ensuring we maximise prospecting opportunities by preparing thoroughly prior to the event, proactively networking during the event and diligently following up afterwards
Owning and defining a set of clients in the South of England including the development of a sales strategy, setting up prospecting meetings and promoting Capital.
There will be an expectation to travel within the UK as part of the job.

Skills/qualifications:
High energy, entrepreneurial, hard-working, enthusiastic, focused and professional
High quality interpersonal skills, especially influencing skills
Demonstrable experience in sales (including cold calling and relationship building)
Experience of engaging with prospects, consultants, clients or colleagues
Financial / Investment and Asset Management knowledge
Comfortable discussing financial topics with prospects (product and asset class characteristics, macro themes etc)
Knowledge of the UK financial intermediary industry in the South of England
Graduate degree preferable
Salesforce knowledge preferable
Related professional exams (e.g.IMC)
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
