Overview

As a Portfolio Strategy Specialist (PSS), you will be at the heart of our Portfolio Strategy Management (PSM) capability—helping to shape and deliver equity investment strategies tailored to our clients’ needs across a wide range of vehicles.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of quantitative analysis, portfolio construction, and strategic execution. You will work closely with equity investment professionals, technologists, and operations teams to ensure our systematic strategies are implemented with accuracy, insight, and scalability.

What You’ll Do

1. Be a Portfolio Construction Expert

• Apply deep knowledge of systematic portfolio construction to support and evolve Capital Group’s Equity PSM strategies.

• Interpret quantitative Equity risk model outputs to make confident, data-driven daily investment recommendations.

• Collaborate with quantitative research and analytics teams to refine and enhance the Equity systematic investment process.

2. Drive Daily Investment Execution

• Independently manage the daily investment process for mature Equity PSM vehicles.

• Deliver high-quality rebalance recommendations and ensure timely execution.

• Monitor and troubleshoot real-time production issues, ensuring decisions meet market deadlines.

3. Continuously Improve Our Capabilities

• Partner with Technology and Quant teams to evolve our decision-making systems and data environment.

• Identify opportunities for research and process enhancements from day-to-day operations.

• Lead change management efforts for new strategies and model updates, ensuring robustness and scalability.

4. Align Strategy with Product Needs

• Understand the objectives of various investment vehicles (SMA, Lux, CIT, SA, ETF, etc.) and how Equity PSM strategies meet those needs.

• Monitor vehicle customisations and ensure alignment with Capitals equity reference strategies over time.

• Lead resolution of issues impacting portfolio construction and represent findings in governance forums.

5. Support Growth and Innovation

• Collaborate across Product, Investment Group, and Operations to support new product launches and strategy expansions.

• Represent PSM in client onboarding, RFP/RFI processes, and internal discussions with Legal, Compliance, and Technology.

• Develop new applications of PSM models and processes to support Capital Group’s growth initiatives.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
