“I can succeed as a Data Governance & Enablement Specialist at Capital Group.”
Capital Group's Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) team is pioneering a new approach to data governance — one powered by AI, automated through code, and designed to scale across a $2.7 trillion global investment management firm. We need a Specialist who can architect that future and build it with their own hands.
This is our most senior individual contributor role, and it's not a title-driven position — it's a builder's role. You'll design governance-as-code platforms, architect AI-powered monitoring solutions, and create the reusable frameworks that the entire enterprise adopts. You’ll also drive adoption of governance standards by engaging with LOB Data Governance teams, Data Owners, and Stewards to ensure enterprise data excellence expectations are met across Capital Group. You'll work side-by-side with your teammates in a growing EDG team where everyone contributes directly to building capabilities. If you want to shape the future of how organizations govern data in the age of AI, and you're ready to do the work to make it real, this role is for you.
"I am the person Capital Group is looking for."
- You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Management or a related field
- You have at least 10 years of experience in data governance, data management, data engineering, or information management
- Your deep technical expertise includes architecting and building technical solutions using governance-as-code, policy-as-code, automated governance pipelines, AI-powered monitoring, and equivalent automation at scale
- Your technical foundation includes proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar language; experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, AWS), modern data architecture (CD/CI pipelines), and governance tooling platforms (Collibra or similar technology)
- You have demonstrated experience with change management practices and successfully driven adoption of technical capabilities across resistant organizations
- Your expertise includes data governance practices and frameworks (i.e., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) including for highly regulated environments (i.e., SEC, FINRA, and EU AI Act)
- You’ve worked in financial services, investment management, or other highly regulated industries
