Analyst (Product Specialist)

Position Summary
Carlyle seeks to hire a Product Specialist within AlpInvest’s Investor Relations Team. The Analyst will have the opportunity to work across AlpInvest’s product lines of Secondary, Co-Investment, NAV Finance, and Primary Investments, and be responsible for supporting AlpInvest’s efforts in the Institutional and Private Wealth channels. The position will provide key support to Senior Product Specialists to drive strategic initiatives across the segment, as well as have an active role in coordinating investor requests / responses, serving as a segment expert to other parts of Carlyle and the Firm’s Sales professionals. The role will include interaction with existing limited partners and investors. The successful candidate must be able to build expertise in the key strategies which AlpInvest operates, prioritize multiple projects and work under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and updating of marketing/fundraising materials, due diligence request responses/presentations, RFIs and RFPs
- Support development of due diligence materials and legal documentation
- Preparation of client portfolio review materials and investment plans
- Handle on-going and ad hoc investor requests
- Support in the development of new investment solutions
- Maintenance of investor pipelines and diligence request trackers
- CRM maintenance and use of various reporting platforms to obtain usable LP data
- Assist with onsite investor meetings and conferences
Qualifications
Education & Certificates
· Bachelor’s degree in analytical subject (e.g. Finance, Economics, Econometrics or Engineering) preferred, with good academic results
Professional Experience
- 1 - 3 years of relevant work/internship experience
- Preferred experience includes: investor relations or business development within financial services, investment banking, capital markets, asset management, managing consulting, international law firm or comparable blue-chip companies
Competencies & Attributes
- Candidates should be fluent in English. Proficiency in any Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Korean, Japanese) would be considered a strong plus.
- Candidates should be able to understand and evaluate both quantitative data and legal documents
- Excellent computer skills, including ability to learn and become the subject matter expert in the systems used to respond to investor and Senior Product Specialist requests
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with colleagues across different functions and regions.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively in both writing and speaking, tailored to the audience.
- Candidates should have a proactive and entrepreneurial attitude and should be able to show initiative
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Position-specific Technical Requirements
· Advanced Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) skills required
· CRM system including DealCloud is preferred
· Ability to quickly develop competency in manipulating various reporting platforms and systems to obtain usable LP data
